My name is Megan DeLorenzo, and I am a student at Academic Magnet High School. This page contains my assignments for the Film and Fiction class I completed this year. Throughout the second semester my appreciation for film has grown, and I have noticed many changes in the ways I watch and critique films. I have been introduced to many influential directors like Orsen Welles, Roman Polansky, and Alfred Hitchcock. The films created by these directors that I have seen throughout this class have widened my understanding of film, showing me different film techniques and their purposes/effects on an audience. Welles's Citizen Kane showed me different camera angles, and a unique use of lighting. With Polansky's Chinatown I noticed the intricate use of symbolism and dialogue. Finally, with Hitchcock's Vertigo and Psycho, I saw powerful camera angles, a unique use of sound, and the famously unseen Hitchcockesque endings.
